Once billed as "The Nation's Showplace", the Steel Pier is currently enjoying a one-year reprieve from the wrecking ball. Opened since 1898, owner Trump Entertainment Resorts is planning to redevelop the pier into retail and entertainment attractions along with luxury condominiums.
